Trauma Relief Work
in Aceh After the Tsunami

Works With Adults
& Children

Body-Based,
Individualised Approach

The Gap

You have insight into your issue.
Yet somehow, behaviour change isn't happening.

Maybe it shows up as anxiety, overwhelm, phobias, jaw tension, pain, sensory overload, emotional storms, poor coordination, self-sabotage, or feeling frozen when life asks something of you.

Maybe you've tried to think your way through it. Maybe you've done the right things. Maybe you feel you should be better by now. And yet something still feels unresolved.

The Insight & Fit Call is a space to begin understanding what may be happening beneath the surface, and whether this work is the right next step.

What People Are Often Seeking

Not always named as trauma. More often, named by its effects.

People do not always come saying, "I have trauma," or "my nervous system is dysregulated." More often, they come because of the effects, and because they want life to feel more coherent, grounded, and workable, and reclaiming joy and authenticity.

From dysregulation

to felt safety

From coping

to greater capacity

From self-blame

to self-understanding

From fragmentation

to coherence

They may also be seeking better regulation, clearer decision-making, more self-trust, steadier relationships, relief from emotional overwhelm, and a deeper sense of meaning and alignment.

Who This Is For

Looking for support for yourself, your child, or your family?

This call may be for you if you sense the issue may be deeper than symptoms alone.

This may be for you if

You recognise yourself in these.

  • You or your child have tried many things, but something still feels unresolved
  • You are aware of the impact, even if you do not yet know the full cause
  • You sense stress, trauma, overload, or old patterns may be affecting daily life
  • You want an approach that looks beneath symptoms, not just at symptoms
  • You value meaningful change over quick relief alone
  • You are open to a process that is individualised, body-based, and developmental

This is likely not the right fit if

Honest discernment, both ways.

  • You are looking for a quick fix
  • You want guaranteed outcomes or instant transformation
  • You want someone to replace or override medical advice
  • You are looking for proof that this can do what medicine cannot
  • You are not open to a process that unfolds through consistency and lived experience
  • You want persuasion rather than honest discernment

This may be especially relevant if you are navigating

Anxiety, phobias, anger, grief, or emotional storms Sensory overload, numbness, or dysregulation Developmental challenges affecting focus, learning, movement, or coordination Physical pain or jaw tension with emotional components Self-sabotage in relationships, career, money, or parenting Loss of meaning, purpose, self-trust, or direction

Li-Anne's work is for people who are ready to engage sincerely with a deeper process of understanding, regulation, growth, and change.

What Makes This Approach Different

Working without scripts.

Li-Anne bridges deep somatic trauma work, neurodevelopmental movement, and lived trauma recovery to help people uncover what sits beneath the symptom, so change becomes more coherent, embodied, and lasting.

She is known for working without scripts or cookie-cutter protocols, and for respecting each person's nervous system, pace, learning style, and lived experience.

About Li-Anne

Twenty years of meeting the body where it is.

Li-Anne Tan is a trauma-informed kinesiologist who works with children and adults through a body-based approach. Drawing from kinesiology, somatic trauma work, neurodevelopmental movement, and more than 20 years of experience, she helps clients uncover deeply held patterns affecting regulation, learning, resilience, and self-expression. Her work is also shaped by trauma relief work in Aceh after the tsunami, and by her own recovery from stroke.

She works with the body as an entry point, especially when symptoms, stress patterns, or developmental challenges have not fully shifted through conventional or talk-based approaches alone.

Her clients often seek greater regulation, clearer understanding, steadier functioning, and a more grounded way forward in life, learning, relationships, and self-trust.

Real People, Real Stories

Quietly told, carefully protected.

Because this work is personal and often sensitive, many clients choose to remain anonymous. These examples show the kind of shifts Li-Anne's work has supported while respecting privacy.

Case Snapshot

When eating became frightening

An adult client reached out during a period of intense stress and shutdown. Eating had become distressing and difficult, and she had not eaten properly for about a week.

Li-Anne worked with her felt sense reaction and the emotional stress held around the situation. By the end of the session, she was able to begin eating a small amount again, and over subsequent sessions she returned to fuller nourishment.

Case Snapshot

When school had to stop

A Secondary 4 student preparing for O Levels experienced severe distress after starting ADHD medication and had to stop school to recover from the stress.

Li-Anne worked consistently with him on early childhood reflexes and regulation patterns over about eight months. The following year he resumed school, completed his O Levels, and later graduated from polytechnic.
